Downhome tours Scotland
Here's a photo of me, Jeannette Fitzgerald of Open Hall, Bonavista Bay, visiting Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven, Scotland with my copy of Downhome magazine. The oldest part of the castle dates from 860AD and it once hid the Scottish crown jewels during the Reformation, before they were smuggled out in a laundry basket by a scullery maid. More recently, the castle featured with Mel Gibson in Hamlet.Â
I was travelling with my friend, Joanna McDonald, who is from Stonehaven, but now lives in Open Hall. It was good to see her hometown as she now lives in mine. Downhome went everywhere with us and was much shared, read and enjoyed by everyone we visited.Â
