Downhome on the Whistler Mountaineer Train
It's been 20 years since the Newfoundland railway closed down, but it will never be forgotten by those of us fortunate enough to not only see the trains run in NL, but also to have ridden them. Whenever I travel on the mainland or in Europe, I always make a point of taking the train and on a recent trip to BC with my son, it was no exception. I was on the Mountaineer from North Vancouver to Whistler with my son William, and thanks to his foresight, had a copy of the Downhome with me. Here is a shot of me on that train, with a piece of Newfoundland, thinking how wonderful it would be we still had our train back home. Submitted By: NULL
