Downhome in New York’s Adirondack’s
On the 16th and 17th of May (24th of May weekend), our friends John Higdon of New Harbour (now living in Ottawa) and his girlfriend Lindsey Swinerton (Lake Simcoe, ON), drove south, while my wife Mary and I drove north from Albany, New York to meet up for a weekend of camping and hiking in the great Adirondack National Park. As you can see, our latest copy of Downhome made it to the top of Mt. Joe (John holding the magazine while the wind tries to blow him over), near the village of Lake Placid. We had a wonderful trip, and the park we camped in was actually operated by two Newfoundlanders (Magic Pines Campground) who moved away in the late 60s. Submitted By: Mark Penney
