Downhome Goes To Cuba
On March 28, 2010, when we visited Havana, Cuba, our favourite magazine, “Downhome,” came along with us. It was an absolutely perfect in-flight read, although we did feel a little guilty that the other 187 passengers didn’t have one to enjoy! In Cuba, we took a day trip to Havana, with a visit to the historical Revolution Square, where this picture was taken. It is one of the world’s largest city squares, measuring 72,000 square meters, and Downhome was there! We took an awe-inspiring stroll through the narrow, ancient streets of Old Havana, but our visit to the Hotel Ambos Mundos, Ernest Hemmingway’s favourite hotel and bar, in the heart of the old city was the highlight of our trip! Mr. Hemmingway has long since passed, but we believe his muse still lingers in the place he loved! Submitted By: Nancy Crossman
