I am so proud of my cousin, Patrick Hynes, who participated in the Special Olympics in Kingston, ON in May. Patrick, was born to Kevin & Cheryl Hynes in Happy Valley, Labrador in 1994. He was born with Down Syndrome. They lived in CBS from 1997-2002 when the family moved to Ottawa, ON. In Patrick's second year in the sport of bowling, he was selected to the Ottawa regional bowling team, based on his tournament performances. While in Kingston, Patrick was awarded four individual silver medals as well as a team silver for his performance over two days of competition. It has inspired him to do more and he hopes to make the regional swim team so he can be a two- sport athlete at the next games. He is entering Grade 12 this year and is very active in school life as well as sports. What a fine young man you have become Patrick and I am very proud of your accomplishments at the Olympics.
