Dowden, Cyril – Tacks Beach, Placentia Bay
Cyril Dowden was born at Tacks Beach, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland on October 25, 1914 to George and Lucy (nee Green) Dowden. He was a member of the 10th Naval Contingent (#216736), serving the area of the Persian Gulf. After the war he returned to Newfoundland and was employed as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He married Lily Winsor of Triton and raised two children. After his retirment from the RCMP the family moved to Triton where he resided until his death on March 2, 1996 Submitted By: Justine (nee Vincent) Thomas
