I live in Goose Bay Labrador and thought I would share this with you  

My husband Bernie and I along with 3 other friends just got back from Samana,Dominican Republic-where we had a wonderful vacation. Of course I took along the March issue of Downhome to read as I relaxed on the beach. The front of the magazine really stuck out as I lay it on the sand and i realized what it was saying – Newfoundland is Sinking. It got me to thinking:  imagine if it were to sink and we all ended up on the beaches of the Dominican Republic. Wouldn't that be an adventure? Also I was reading the article on pages 96-97 about packing the right insurance and I realized how quickly we might need the proper insurance, as you can see from the photo I have included. My husband and I were walking along the beach at the water's edge when we came upon some reef that he stubbed his toes on, and he needed to be bandaged up for the last 2 days of our vacation. I felt the picture and your article was worth a thousand words – some not to be spoken here when the stubbing happened! LOL

We really enjoy your magazine – have since it first started - and we carry it with us wherever we go. We got to meet some interesting people from far and near when they see us reading it. Thanks for the interesting articles and pictures we get to read and see
