Do You Know Who I Am?
Back in 2014, I found my birth father after many years searching for him. The next year he had to have heart surgery and it was very hard on him. When my new found sister, Judy, and I went to visit him a couple days after surgery, he seemed surprisingly alert and talkative even though we understood that his recovery was unknown at this time. After visiting with him for a bit, I turned to my sister and whispered to her, "Do you think he knows who we are?" She shrugged and replied that she was doubtful. So I leaned over and said to him, "Dad, do you know my name?" He gave me a quizzical look and rolled his eyes and replied, "Heather, me darlin', do you not know your own name?" Obviously, he was in better shape brain-wise than my sister and me! Submitted By: NULL
