Do you know this artist?
This is a bit of a long shot but when I was trying to find out about some pottery I have I came across an article written by Dale Jarvis about some Newfoundland potters. None of the people who were in the article fits who I am inquiring about but was hoping you could try and help me find out about her. It must have been the late 1990s or 2001/2002 that I came across some chowder bowls in the craft shop across from the Sheraton hotel towards the water. I really liked them and not sure how it came about but I ended up going to meet the potter at her home. I think she lived just off the west end of Water Street. Can't remember her name but she was a young woman just starting out and I think that she had a baby. I have photos of the 2 bowls I bought from her plus a serving plate with a cat's face on it. She went on to make another 4 bowls for me and I still have all 7 pieces in perfect condition. They have been to Halifax NS, Calgary, back to NS, then to Spain and are presently with me at home in Scotland. I would just like to try and find out a bit more about her and to let her know that her pieces are still loved and used. Kind regards, Catherine McLeod Submitted By: NULL
