Different Old Times
Different Old Times

This is an interesting photo of an old Plymouth car, which was taken in 1946 in the driveway of my wife’s parent's ( Ernest and Beatrice Shute) residence at 324 Hamilton Avenue, in St. Johns. Things were so different in those days. Note the style of the car. Also note the ladders behind the houses, which were required to comply with fire regulations in those days. Also, as seen, houses had heavy paned wooden storm windows which had to be installed every Fall and removed in the Spring. How times have changed.

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Submitted By: John Cornick
