Days of our Youth
Days of our youth what better place
To find a long remembered face
Those days we all spent together
Year after year, whatever the weather
It all began when shy little girls
First started school with our plaits and our curls
At presentation from beginning to end
All our childhood years we'd spend
Throughout those years more girls joined our class
Other girls left, and we missed them, alas
Then came graduation, the girls were all scattered
New jobs and new lives and other things mattered
So the years passed by quickly, we go on with our lives
As we became girlfriends and mothers and wives
We worked long and hard for our families and bosses
And over the years we've all counted our losses
Nearly 50 years passed, we all needed a lift
Need something so special, a present a gift
The out of the blue, the phone calls they came
From someone who called us by our maiden name
A voice from the past brought back things we'd forgot
Both good and bad, brought us back to that spot
Back through the years, to our friends and our youth
To wonderful memories, and the best times, that's the truth.
