After leaving the town of Rust in eastern Austria, we took a shortcut across Lake Neuseidl in a delightful little pink boat. We shared the ferry with 4 other like minded cyclists, all of us enjoying the 30 minute ride. Neuseidl is the largest endorheic lake in Central Europe, covering 315 sq. km and straddles the Austrian-Hungarian border. I found it rather amazing that this large body of water is at no point deeper than 5' 11".   Submitted By: Donna Hewitt
