Cuba Renewal Party
About a year ago our cousin, Barbara (Barbie) Foster had mentioned that she would like to renew her wedding vows in Cuba. See Barbie had moved away when she was very young and met a man on-line two years prior to her move, Ross Foster, and decided to leave her hometown of Frenchman's Cove, NF and take the adventure to New Zealand. A very short time after her arrival there she married the love of her life, unfortunately she never had any members of her family from her NF home who could attend the wonderful event. They had a son, Josh, who none of us met until they decided to come back to Canada Josh was about 10 at that time. They moved back to Fort McMurray which is where most of us in the picture are now living including her father, Ted Tucker. I didn't meet Barbie until she moved here as I am her cousin by marriage, we became very good friends and I cherish her as if she was a sister. She is probably the most funny and honest person I have ever met and all she wanted was for us all to be together on a vacation and have a reason to make it happen so off to Cuba 11 of us go to give her the family she never had the first time around!! While we were packing I mentioned to my spouse, Terry Lewis, that we should bring 11 copies of the Downhome to Cuba with us to have a picture done of the group and submit it to your magazine we sure love your magazine it has stories of home and since we can't be there on a full time basis until we retire it gives us a little feel of the NF way, and for me the recipes are a bonus. So in the backpack 11 issues go!! It was an amazing trip and below is the group holding our favorite magazine!!
