Just received my Downhome magazine asking for "Ladies' Menopausal Moments." Well, I had so many moments, I sat down one day and wrote a poem about it. Hope you can share it with more ladies.

Could This Be Menopause?

You're too young the doctor said,
but it follows no set plan.
Why then do I have all these symptoms
that I don't understand.

My body is taken over by aliens,
cause I just don't feel like ME
Hot flashes, depression, headaches
& then I lash out at ALL I see.

I tried to sleep - so many thoughts
running through my head
When I awoke soaking wet -
Is this a night sweat, or did I pee in bed?

I walked into a store to do some shopping,
or so I thought.
The walls crashed in, dizziness began
- so I rushed from that spot.

My child cries, "Mom, you're always mad"
& my husband cries, "Where's the wife I had?"
How can I be civil, with thousands
of tiny insects inside my skin, driving me mad?

Why is it so aggravating to hear
the radio loud, a phone ring or a child cry?
Am I going off my head?
Sometimes I just want to die.

My hormones are all messed up
or so they say.
They even have a room at the
"Waterford" for me to stay.

The Bible says Eve gave Adam
the fruit & thus the childbearing pain.
But GOD, you know, we've had
ENOUGH, even though we hate to complain.

Well, if this in MENopause, I
just want to pause and say
I am giving it back to the MEN
