Cotopaxi Summit
Paul Delaney on top of Cotopaxi Volcano (5897 m) on Friday, November 13, 2009. The volcano is capped with a permanent glacier from about the 5000 m level. The main vent of this perfectly formed, active, stratovolcano is behind, and there is some fumarolic activity to be seen as wispy white vapours on either side of me, as the volcano is starting to show some activity again.
