A mixed softball tournament was held on August 2nd, as one of the scheduled events for the Bay St. George South Come Home year celebration. Players were assigned teams depending on which of the 10 communities in the area they were from. The Organizers, which included Angela Gill, Melanie Gill, Neil Kinden, Andy MacDonnell and Jon Young felt it was an excellent way to enjoy softball with new and old friends from home and away and at the same time raise funds to support E. A. Butlers Youth Softball Program. After a full day packed with laughs, close calls and moosebugers, the championship went to the Robinsons team. The tournament raised funds for E. A. Butler's Youth Softball program. And, concession sales raised money for youth darts.
