Come From Away

I’m originally from Bell Island, NL, and have lived in Calgary for 25 years. My daughter Andrea and I recently attended a play at Theatre Calgary, called The Tale Of The Gifted Prince, which took place in China. During the intermission, all the attendants walked amongst the hundreds and hundreds of guests, with baskets and baskets full of fortune cookies. I took one, cracked it open, and read my fortune. Imagine my surprise and amusement when it read, “YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO FAR TO COME FROM AWAY”.
