Cole Searle, Richard (Dick) – Kilbride, NL
My Dad, Richard Dick Cole Searle, went over in the First World War 1914-1917, age 17, from Kilbride. Returned from the war unharmed, Dad worked on farms in Kilbride for a few years. Married and had a family of seven children. In 1934 Dad was given a job as caretaker of the Church of England orphanage farm. He worked there until 1961 or 1962. That was when the farm closed out. Goodbye, no rewards. Dad passed away in 1969 at age 69. Submitted By: NULL
