My mom...Louise Lane(Bradley) went to St. John's when she was 16 years old to look for work (1936-37)....she did in service for Thomas Ricketts..She used to tell stories about Mr and Mrs Rickettts...all stories were about how nice they were to her and treated her with respect even though she was their cook/maid etc....she also spoke of their two children and their dog Spot.
