Christmas Is Still Like It Was
Christmas Is Still Like It Was By Wayne Taylor, Bonavista Some people say Christmas is not like it was But I'm really not sure that it's true For the spirit of Christmas resides in the hearts Of people like me and like you Some say that traditions and customs have changed That we now have a new point of view But maybe it's only the times that have changed For the spirit each year is renewed Come December each year the excitement begins No matter how old we may be We think of presents, decorations, of family and friends And of our special Christmas memories Our feelings for others are welcoming and warm No matter what's gone on before We're more generous, forgiving, and quick to express Seasons Greetings to those 'round our door And the spirit of Christmas still lights up the eyes Of all children, each girl and each boy As each waits for Santa to come to their home It's a time of good cheer and much joy And we wish each other and all that we meet Peace on earth and good will to all men So perhaps the Christmas spirit is still what it was And has been since Christmas began Submitted By: wayne taylor
