Christmas In The Harbour (Wayne Taylor, Bonavista) It's Christmas time in the harbour and down along the shore For days they've been preparing with cakes and rum in store The ceiling is decorated with crepe that's red and green And icicles are hanging on the branches of the tree It's Christmas time in the harbour and all the folks around Are eagerly awaiting for Tibb's Eve to start in town For that's the start of going 'round to each house in the cove And sit and yarn and have a sip around the kitchen stove It's Christmas time in the harbour a special time of year With a concert in the schoolhouse and celebrations with much cheer And after Christmas Day is o'er mummers are on the go No matter on the canvas floors if they track in lots of snow It's Christmas time in the harbour and for the full twelve days It's celebration for all those who live around the bay A time to shun survival's chores make merry and be of good cheer Throughout December's darker days to end another year   Submitted By: wayne taylor
