Chicken Feathers
"CHICKEN FEATHERS I had a dream when I was young, It just gave my heart the jitters, I dreamed the chicken came to me, All looking for their feathers. I dreamed I saw them in my room, All standing around my bed, Fred the rooster was in charge, With a red comb on his head. I dreamed I called out to my mom, But, my voice was meek and mellow, ‘Cause the chickens were on my bed, All pickin’ at my pillow. I dreamed I said, ""Get out of here, And take your feathers please, You can even take my blanket, So your little bones don’t freeze!"" Then I dreamed, they said to me, ""You know why we are here?"" I said, ""I suppose you want my mom, To knit you underwear?"" Next, I dreamed they left my room, And went back to their coop, But, only after I said to them, ""Grandma wants you for her Soup!"" No, I wasn’t dreaming later on, When my mother found me cryin’ I had a hole tore in my pillow top, And all the feathers flyin’. Oh! That was many years ago, When feathers pillows were, around, Now, I worry about ducks at night, ‘Cause my blankets are filled with, down. " Submitted By: NULL
