Charles Reginald Foote
I am enclosing a picture of my father, Charles Reginald Foote, son of Charles Herbert Foot and Julie Mae Wagg. He was born Sept. 14, 1915 in Foote's Cove, Pardy's Island (Burin, NL). He volunteered for the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve from Dec. 18, 1939 to May 20, 1943. Among the boats he served on were the Stadacona, the Protector and the Venture. Previously to volunteering he was a fisherman. Unfortunately, he drowned on Dec. 24, 1967, in a terrible winter storm while fishing on the dragger Iceland II at Forchu off Cape Breton Island. There was a monument erected in memory of all the crew members in Souris, PEI. Submitted By: Ernest Foote
