Bride Takes a Detour

Bride Takes a Detour

On my wedding day my bridesmaids and I talked of pretty dresses, glamourous make-up and the handsome men that were at the church awaiting our arrival. It was 3:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 when the limo had arrived to pick up me and my bridesmaids. We all cheered and got butterflies when the driver got out of the car and came to open the back door for us. We all got in the limo and were on our way. After only five minutes, the driver announced that we had to pull over because there was something not right with the limo. As any bride can agree, you don't want to be late for church. My sister then noticed there was a winnebago pulling onto the parking lot. Jokingly she said, "Let's ask him for a ride." So I did just that. I grabbed the two sides of my dress and ran towards the vehicle. As I came around the side of the vehicle I spilled my story to this nice gentleman, Mike Howse. He thought I was nuts and pulling a prank on him. He drove me and the girls to the church and got us there on time. He was so shocked that he actually asked me to call his wife from his cell phone and tell her the story because he knew his wife would surely think he was cracking up if he went home with that story. So as the title says, Mike was "in da right place at da right time."
