Boyhood Memories
Dandelion flowers, busy bees
A warm sun, a gentle breeze
Butterflies fluttering, birds in the air
Nature’s beauty abounds everywhere
A small brook, a rippling flow
A tiny minnow swimming below
A peaceful sight, a touch of gold
A painter’s paradise for young or old
A small boy toddling along
Tossing pebbles, humming a song
Splashing the water, stopping to dream
Of toads and fish, things in the stream
Making a jump, wetting his feet
Picking a berry, a morsel to eat
Skipping and hopping, full of joy
A typical scene, a typical boy
Clouds rolling in, seagulls scream
Drops of rain, a changing scene
Thunder rolls, like dark of night
Everything hides, nothing in sight
A dash for home, in through the door
Muddy tracks across the floor
A frightened face against the pane
Waiting for life to spring forth again
