Bonfire Night
Everyone usually gathers at a communal spot
Or a private one if a socializer they are not
The smell of the wood burning in the big fire show
The crackling, hissing and the vibrant glow
The warmth and heat off the fire is cozy
The cool crisp air makes your cheeks all rosy
Children sip on hot chocolate as they dance and sing
While the parents may have a beverage of choice to bring
The mood is happy, joyful and fun
In 24 years away I’ve only been home to one
Guy Fawkes Night was something I really looked forward to
I think of it on the day every year and I get a little blue
