Blow Me Down Mountain
"Oh the mountain it just stands there, As it has since time began; Pointing upward to the heavens, And facing toward the the sun. To walk out around the mountain, It was a rough and crooked road; It was pleasant if you were empty handed, But tiresome with a load. To get up to the very top, Was a hard and steeper way; But of course when you were there, You could see all across the Bay. Many folks went out around the mountain, In the nice warm summer days; They went to go to school there, And church of course on Sundays. But now the times are changing, And Blow Me Down seems so bare; It stands forlorn and lonely, As if no one seems to care. Once there were the sounds of voices, Of laughing and playing around; Yes many folks have walked these hills, On that path of solid ground. There were those who sang and chanted, And the echoes you could hear; But now a silence fills the air, Good-bye to yesteryear." Submitted By: NULL
