Blasty Boughs Oh Blasty Boughs
Oh how they are one of Mother Nature’s greatest inventions
To turn from forest green to blasty red when cut was her intention
Keeping houses warm by surrounding them is one of their winter tricks
And they can help start a bonfire for you ‘right quick’
There’s something different about the smell of the fire
When they’re laid on top and the smoke gets higher
Blasty boughs are great when you’re ‘boilin’ up in the woods’
There’s bits of it in your tea but it’s ‘some shockin’ good’
Only a Newfoundlander would know what a ‘Blasty Bough’ is
It’s another part of our Folklore sure ‘tis’’~
