This is "Benfield's Motel," built by two men, Bennett & Field - Bennett appears to have the brains, and Field the brawn. Anyway, they have put up a building as good as you'll find anywhere in Carolina. They have one double and one single bed in their 12-room motel - each bed has a leather white head board. Lovely leather furniture, large bath & shower - really good heating - electric lights, really good hot water, and they stay open all night, so if you want to spend Christmas here - book now!

A photo we came across that depicts an adventure my grandparents - P.G. & Nellie Tipping - went on with Alex & Lillian Myrden (all from Corner Brook) in Nov. 1964. After deciphering the scribble 'Pop' Tipping wrote on the back of the photo, I wonder if "Benfield's" is still operating. Benfield's Motel is in Daniels Harbour. Picture taken by P.G.
