I displayed a crown upon my head<br /> an exquisite sight to behold<br /> I flaunted my splendor for others to see<br /> draped in hues of scarlet and gold<br /> <br /> Those days have since passed, and here I stand<br /> no apologies do I make<br /> my outer beauty has long since faded<br /> no offense of yours do I take<br /> <br /> I've shed my petals and bared my soul<br /> transparent I have become<br /> I've held the best of me deep inside<br /> A secret, I know to some<br /> <br /> Like a ballerina in plie<br /> I will pose for this last dance<br /> standing tall,head unbowed<br /> But ever grateful for the chance<br /> <br /> Though my remaining days are few<br /> and I shall soon draw my last breath<br /> I truly hope that you will forever see<br /> there was still beauty in my death<br /> <br /> <br /> Wanda Peddle Submitted By: Wanda Peddle
