Beauty and the Beast
The stinger nettle plants near my cabin in Bridgeport, NDB were invaded in July with black nettle eating caterpillars. They devoured the nasty plants that we avoid like the plague. A month later they morphed into the most beautiful butterflys (red admirals) and can be seen here now covering a stinger needle plant. Amazing such a beautiful insect is attracted to these plants for food. From stinger nettles to stinger needles. Submitted By: Kathy Knight
