Baskets The Mighty One-Speed A Tribute by Debra S. Carlisle Smith (You can read it as a poem or sing it to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon") Here's a few things to know before reading: 1) I had a bike with 3 baskets 2) Bernie (brother) called nickles, nackles. He also had bad tonsils and would smack his cereal in the morning. 3) If we were naughty, Mom used to often say, "I'm going to brain you kids" 4) Twelve Men was a song us kids sang in church 5) Debra Eve (don't know how she got that name, she may have had a tag on her) was a cotton doll that we played with in puddles. She was really heavy and Mom wouldn't let us bring her back in the house.
