This is Barnacle Bill’s Restaurant in Cambridge, Ontario. This is a place for Newfoundlanders, and those who wish they were, to get their fix of fish and chips and so much more. The restaurant is owned by John and Coleen Boland who are formerly from Bell Island.  What a comfort to know that you have a place to go to and it feels like home for the last 30 years.

My name is Phil Craig and I am writing this on behalf of our senior group which is called The Beothuk Seniors, all from Bell Island.  We started out with two members which was in the March edition 2025.  Now we are at 14. We meet a couple of times a year.  We just finished a lovely 2 hour meal at Barnacle Bill’s. We talk about the past, present, and future. It is a comfort to talk and socialize without using cell phones (you live longer).
