Banfields’ Driftwood Hut
I spent 10 years in Iqaluit, NU (1990 - 2000) and have been fortunate to be able to move back to my home community of Burgeo. My brother Glenn Banfield, his wife Lois and children Leah, 8, and Andrea, 2 1/2, came home for a visit in August 2006. During that visit our whole family had an opportunity to go to Big Barasway for an old-fashioned picnic. As you can see, the children built a hut from old driftwood while they were there! They are: Douglas Ireland, 11, Burgeo (my son); Leah Banfield, 8, Cardinal, ON; Andrea Banfield, 2 1/2, Cardinal, ON Submitted By: NULL
