Avenue?
We were writing sentences using our spelling words in Grade 5 when the word "avenue" appeared in the list. Our small community only had "roads" and "lanes" so I explained "avenue" in terms of places in big cities the students had seen on television. One student let out a groan and said "OH! That's what it means. I was thinking it was like "Avenue (Haven't you) got your work done yet?"
