Aunt Minnie’s Window
The view from Aunt Minnie's window
Looked out on St. Georges Bay
You could see the island of Sandy Point
Even on the cloudiest day

Aunt Minnie would sit in her chair by the stove
A warm cup of tea in her hand
Spinning old yarns about life long ago
In a way I would understand

She spoke at length about Sandy Point
Where the people were sturdy but poor
Our family tree had roots she said
On that beautiful sandy shore

I remember the view from that window
Like it was just yesterday
Now Aunt Minnie's gone but her stories live on
In my heart where there sure to stay
Submitted By: Nancy Crossman
