A Wish of Mine
So many young people go to war
it makes us all feel blue
to see these loved ones go away
it's so sad for me and you
The soldiers go to distant lands
by boats, by cars and planes.
they see so many horrible sights,
and we don't even know all their names.
What this world needs now is peace
When will we see the end of war?
How many lives will pay the price?
Please God, we don't want any more.
Oh Lord, how much blood must be shed
before they lay their weapons down?
We should bring our soldiers home
before we lay more in the ground.
I hope we'll all have peace in our lives
and that all wars will come to an end
and every person here on this earth
will become each other's friend.
I wrote this for all soldiers, especially for my nephew Jody Winsor, Roberts Arm; also Jason Colbourne, Lushes Bight and Glen Rideout, Beaumont.
