A Whole Lotta Bull
Here is a photo taken at Parson's Pond in the late fifties of a bull that somehow lost its lower leg in some accident, and was fitted with a homemade one that worked quite well. Bulls were a valued animal, and there were not too many of them around, so something had to be done, and the resourceful people of Parson's Pond came to the rescue. The bull went on for quite some time performing his duty to the herd of cows. We think his name was Hitler. The people in the photo are Emons Payne in the foreground, and Angus Wentzell Sr. in the background. Angus was my father and was instrumental in getting the bull from the government at the time.
