A Tribute to my Father
"He was an oak tree Young, proud and strong His roots ran deep and firm Beside him, a beautiful elm They grew together, branches intertwined Their acorns scattered and grew close by His branches shaded the young saplings And they grew, loved and protected Never out of sight or mind His needs were few He appreciated God's earth and all that is in it The seasons passed by One by one Through the good times and the bad He stood strong and defiant He lived, laughed and loved and was loved in return He grew more beautiful and majestic with age His branches spreading out to touch those around him with his kindness He began to weaken but he pushed on Remaining firm in his faith Until one day, all his strength was gone And he surrendered into God's arms Leaving his simple legacy of unconditional love, trust and devotion to his family And so it is. Written in memory of my dear father, George Drover, who passed away on November 10th, 2003 at the age of 78 years." Submitted By: NULL
