A Tribute to Mud Lake
A Tribute to Mud Lake By Heather Lyon Mud Lake, in the Springtime, is a sight to see. Its pristine beauty has captured me. From the twinkling stars in the night sky above, To the wind swept waters that reflect peace and love. Billowy clouds meander away, As the sun breaks through to begin a new day. The Bittern calls, as if to say, I'll out sing the Robin in my own special way. As colours abound in the bright morning sun, It seems as though angels spread their wings and have fun. No better picture, I'm sure you will find, As the wind on the water brings this image to mind. People start planting their seeds for the Fall, As flowers sway gently to the Bumble Bee call. Mosquitoes and Black flies soon will abound, Thank God for repellents that silence the sound. The children are playing, now that summer is here, Their studies all over for another school year. Mr. Cooper, or "Sir," as he's known to be, Has his bike prepared, new adventures to see. Motor boats travel up and down, Bringing supplies from the Valley, where they are found. Not a car, or a truck, will ever be seen. Just grass by the river banks, forming pastures of green. Before you know it, the Fall is here, With it comes vegetables and wild game to prepare. The wind blows strongly, there's a nip in the air. It's Mother Nature's way of saying that Winter is near. The trees stand stately, as their leaves start to fall. The birds fly south to answer the call. The bears stop roaming; it's time to sleep. When they find a cave, you'll not here a peep. Bikes and motor boats are soon put away. Covered up snugly, as you here people say, "The Lake's frozen over, let's go for a run." As ski-doos are used for business and fun. We're bundled up snugly, when out at nights, We hope to be lucky and see Northern Lights. But, in the daytime, they appear to be here, Crystallized diamonds in the snow, everywhere. Christmas comes early after the snow starts to fall. The kids are excited, waiting for Santa to call. Friends and family come together as one, In Mud Lake Church, as carols are sung. After the service, we all go our own way, While wishing each other a wonderful day. Maybe we'll head home and sit to conspire, As we sit cuddled up all warmed by the fire. So, as each of our seasons pass us by, It should be easy to understand why, This place has enthralled me, right from the start, It surely has captured a place in my heart. God Bless Mud Lake and the people around. May they stay free from danger and remain safe and sound. Submitted By: NULL
