Kenya was happiest when the salt air blew her ears, when there was a fresh snowfall, or when there was a stick to retrieve from the water. In her 8 1/2 years of life, there was never a bone that she didn't love, a kernel of popcorn that she didn't catch in mid-flight, or a stuffed squeaky toy that she didn't perform "surgery" on. As a pup growing up in Corner Brook, she loved to swim in the Humber River and, as she grew old in Paradise, she loved weekend visits to the rocky shores of Mad Rock outside Bay Roberts. In the summer, she took us hiking on the trails in and around Cape Spear and in the winter she loved to ride on the back of dad's skidoo. Like a true Lab, Kenya lived like a match; she burned bright and she burned fast. She lost a short battle with cancer on March 13, 2007 and will be missed by her dog sister Grace and all the humans in her life.
