Have you ever looked closely at a child
Who's very lonely and so sad
If you have then you’ve seen a picture
Of a world without a Dad

“Dad” is the one that we always run from
on nights that we’ve stayed out way too long.
He is also the one that we run back to
When things suddenly go all wrong

There are times when we all get angry at Dad
We pack our bags and say we’re running away
But Dad will just stand there with a smile on his face
He knows we’ll be back the very next day.

Through the years our friends have come and gone
Some made us happy and some made us sad
But we are always sure of one good friend
You can't find a better one than Dad

Dads come in all shapes and sizes
Some are short while others quite tall
But whatever the size of the stature
They are precious gifts to us one and all

I know sometimes the love that we have for Dad
Doesn’t always show through the way that it should
But we’ll all hold him dear within our hearts
And help make his life to be good

May God up above send down his blessings
On all Dads the whole world through
May he always be there to guide them
For they mean the world to me and you
