A town, a few boats and a well loved girlgirl

Three years ago a tiny but mighty community came together to celebrate the life of Tiffany Talbot. Tiffany was well known and loved. Tiffany graduated from the marine institute and worked at sea and on the lakes as a marine engineer. After a career on the supply ships she joined the Canadian coast guard. This was her childhood dream realized. Sometime later she decided to take a land job and became a nuclear engineer with Bruce Power, Port Elgin. Tiffany's love of her little community brought her back every chance she got. Tiffany was well known there especially the store keepers who served her ice cream and if course the fishermen. Tiff was capable of fixing motors, electronics and was often sought out for this. She fished several crab seasons along side her father and brother. She maintained her house in Englee with the skill of a seasoned carpenter. She was an avid cook. She loved any occasion to gather friends for a scoff. Her death in August of 2022 came as a shock to her community. Their beloved Tiffany was coming home to rest in that very harbour her home overlooked. Her ashes were sprinkled on the calmest seas under the most beautiful sunset. The fishing boats lined up for the final farewell. It was solemn, it was beautiful, and it was what Tiff would want. The shores were lined with people, the cars parked, headlights shining across the waters, horns blowing. There were hymns echoing off the hills. It was the most beautiful send off for a young 33 year old girl. Tiff could and would do anything for others, and so they showed up for her. In these days when there's so much bad news this is a little good story about the kindness and coming together of one little Newfoundland town, Englee.
