"I was about 5 1/2 years old my mother, Aunt and myself were going for a walk around the harbour in Port Aux Bras(Burin). And there are a couple of driveways that are out over the water. I asked my mother if it would be ok for me to go and kick rocks out in the water. Of course she said yes. I was very excited because my mother was just after buying me new shoes. So i went over and i began to kick the rocks in the water and being a little kid i never had my shoes right on my feet. I went to kick a rock with my right foot, and me boot goes flying out in the water. Now with that i just started screeeching blue murder. ""Oh mom my boot gone in the water"" i said it about a hundred times. And it was so funny, till this day i gets tormented about it, my aunt does the perfect impersonnation of it. So in 2002 i had my son, she came into the hospitol and gave me my gift for the baby, and when i opened it the was a pair of blue seramic shoes...with a little note saying....Try not t loose these in the water...
