"It was a beautiful summer sunday afternoon, me and my friend Colleen decided to drive to the Clarenville U-Pick strawberry site. As we where headed there on our 3 1/2 hour trip, grey clouds started to appear in the sky. We thought nothing of it, we checked the weather before we left and it!! It was suppose to be sunny and 22 degrees all day. Being the silly girls we were not thinking we live in Newfoundlan- live in Newfoundland and the weather can change from hot to cold, snow to rain in minutes. We finally got there, We picked up our baskets from the young guy at the shed, beads of sweat was running down his head it was so hot. We headed out to the fields of juicy red berries. In our paths of course you know, was loads of cow manure. We were about 10 minutes from the car and the rain started to pour. We both had bare feet and sandels. The ground started to fell mushy, and we just remembered that cow manure covered the ground. We had a 10 minute walk to the car and when we finally got there we had the manure between our toes, up to our ankles. We had no towels, water, or extra socks. We had to grab the nearest big leaf to clean our feet and head to the nearest gas station. It was still sunny outside it was just a rain shower, we drove with the windows down, and the car still spelled so bad. We finally arrived at the gas station, and said we would never go strawberry picking again with sandels and grey skies."   Submitted By: NULL
