A Boy’s First Fish II
A photo of my grandson, Andrew Bennett from New Brunswick, catching his first fish (as did so many of us when we were boys), a connor, on the wharf at Upper Cove (King’s Cove), Happy Adventure. Andrew’s dad, a member of our armed forces, is an avid bass fisherman in NB. He took Andrew fishing with all of his expensive bass fishing gear earlier in the summer. Unfortunately Andrew did not catch anything. When they came home for a holiday in the Eastport area I took Andrew, his sister and his cousin to the wharf fishing. We used some old cheap rods and reels that we found at the cottage and snails for bait. His sister caught the first fish and Andrew caught the biggest fish, so both were happy. Their cousin, who was the youngest at two years four months, also caught a connor. It was a positive experience all around. Submitted By: NULL
