"we had just moved to nova scotia from newfoundland- . we had a few family, and friends over for a bonfire. there were two guys showed up (one is now my sisters boyfriend) which were friends of my cousin. we were all sitting around the fire, when we all start to tell some jokes. of course, some newfie jokes were said by these two guys. they were putting newfies down,quite a bit. so i firgured i get them. i said to them. -why is it when newfies that to mainlanders, they tell us to slow down, 'cause were talking to fast. now if were the stun ones, why can't you guys think fast enough to hear what we just said.- well, i said it that fast the poor guys didn't know what i said or what to say. so, it comes to tell yea who the stun ones are. another time, my sisters boyfriend was at the house. and he asked where our dog was. i said out on the bridge. he said out on the bridge, how did she get downtown, on the bridge. i then started to laugh and said not on the town bridge, the one in front of the house. he said it wasn't a bridge, it's steps. bridges has water running under it. i then said it has water running under when it rain, so whats the difference. he said he may never get use to newfie language, 'cause when my sister and i talk, he says we talk to fast and that he never knows what we are saying. he now has been around so much some times his mother don't know what he is saying."   Submitted By: NULL
