Dear Downhome, Just want to share my story with all you Downhome readers. Through my parents, George and Maxine Payne of Norris Arm, NL, I have learned that "age" is just a number. Dad is 75 and Mom is 68; they travelled over NL for six summers. They visited every single town and took pictures of each one; also took the ferries to every town in this beautiful province of ours. They camped in their tents, cooked on a Coleman stove and over campfires, and showered in the rivers. As they tell us their stories, their eyes light up; they have certainly fulfilled their dreams. They completed their final destination just a couple of weeks ago, which was "Gray River" and "Francois." What an experience! And to be blessed with good health and strength to complete it. They travelled quite a few places around the world, but they think that nothing is as pretty as Newfoundland. You two are my inspiration. So young at heart and so full of life.
