On October 6, 2010 our dear mother Elsie (Hewitt) Stacey celebrated her 90th birthday. To celebrate this wonderful occasion, we held an open house party at her home in Point May, Newfoundland.

On April 27, 1937 she married our father, Peter Stacey Sr. (who passed away on Sept. 15, 1992) and together they parented 17 children, 10 girls and 7 boys, with 14 of us still living. These children have blessed her with 62 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and still counting.

In August of 2009 we held a family reunion at the Point May Community Centre in Point May, Newfoundland. We were fortunate enough to have all 14 children home for the spectacular event, along with 95% of the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

This six-day event consisted of church services, softball games, BBQs (held in Mom's yard), bonfire, fireworks, darts, cards, family talent show, brunch, swimming, dances and a family supper at the community centre.

We are a very close family, and we thank God each and every day for having such wonderful, loving parents.
