Tea Biscuits

2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1/4 cup butter
4 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of raisins or currants (optional)
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of half ‘n half cream
1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup of half ‘n half cream
Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. With a knife cut in butter. Using your hands crumble and mix butter with flour. Then add milk and cream and fold into mixture. Add raisins/black currants if desired.
Pat out on floured surface to approx. 1 inch thick. Cut out biscuits with round cookie cutter (approx. 2 in diameter) and place on cookie sheet in heated oven. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
